Dental emergency or walk-in? Either way, we’ll see you! Call (713) 474-2334 today!

Do you need emergency dental care?

Contact sports, a nasty fall, or simply biting down on a hard piece of food can cause a dental injury. But how can you tell if it’s an emergency? Come on in to our offices and we’ll help! If it hurts, it’s worth checking out. And if the injury seems severe – your tooth gets knocked out, badly cracked, or a large chunk has broken off – you should come in immediately. Even if you’re unsure, stop by and get a professional opinion. We happy to help!

Walk-ins are always welcome!

We know how busy life can get, especially when you have a family. That’s why EaDo Family Dental makes it easy to get your 6-month check-ups. If you have some extra time in your day, a dental emergency, or you just realized that you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, stop by for an appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome. And our inviting offices and patient comforts – Netflix and blankets – will make your appointment feel like you’re visiting an old friend.

How to prepare for an appointment

If you have a scheduled appointment, we have patient resources you can access to make your visit quick and easy. Fill out a new patient form, check which insurances we accept – even enter payment information so you don’t have to worry about it during your appointment. We also have post-op forms so you know exactly how to take care of yourself when you get home. We want to make your visit as painless as possible, before, after and during your procedure.

Welcome to our office

What Is Considered To Be A Dental Emergency?

There are a lot of different things that can count as dental emergencies. A few of the most common issues we see at our office include:

  • Dental injuries – Damage to your teeth from a slip and fall, hard hit in a contact sport, or any other accident can result in cracks, broken teeth, loose, or even knocked-out teeth, all of which are serious issues.
  • Bleeding gums – Cuts and lacerations to the gums and other oral tissues caused by oral injuries may require stitches to heal properly. Gums bleeding for no reason could also indicate advanced gum disease, which should be treated right away
  • Damaged or pulled-out dental work – A damaged or pulled-out filling, crown, or other piece of dental work is an emergency, since the underlying tooth will be more sensitive, tender, and vulnerable to decay and damage.
  • Toothaches – Toothaches may indicate a serious cavity or infected tooth, which requires immediate care, often with root canal therapy. Left untreated, toothaches will only get worse, and could result in tooth loss.
  • Objects lodged in teeth – Food or any other object lodged between the teeth or between the teeth and gums is an emergency, as it could cause a serious tooth infection. Never try to use anything other than a toothpick or floss to remove an object stuck in your teeth.

As a “rule of thumb,” we recommend that you call us for an emergency appointment if your mouth is bleeding a lot, if you are experiencing a lot of pain or discomfort, or if you are having any other dental problem that you don’t know how to resolve on your own.

Once you give us a call at (713) 474-2334, one of our team members can discuss your issue in more detail, and determine whether or not you need same-day emergency care at EaDo Family Dental.
