Is It Safe To See The Dentist During COVID-19? See How We’re Protecting You!

Dental offices in Texas are now open and accepting patients for all treatments, including routine dental care. And at EaDo Family Dental, we’re standing by to provide you and your family with the treatment you need for a healthy smile. Wondering if it’s safe to come to our office during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak? Keep reading, and learn about a few of the precautions we’re taking to make sure our office is safe for you, your family, and our team members.

Social Distancing & Patient Checks

We are providing our patients with pre-appointment questionnaires to ask about recent travel, contact with individuals who may have had COVID-19, and any symptoms (such as a fever or dry cough) that they have experienced in the last few weeks. Patients who may have been exposed will be asked to reschedule their appointments for a later date.

In addition, we have implemented steps to encourage social distancing at our office. We have reconfigured our waiting area, removed items like flyers and magazines, and allow patients to wait in their cars for their appointments, if desired.

We are also staggering patient appointments and seeing fewer patients per day to reduce the number of people who are in our office at any given time, and further protect our patients and staff members.

Handwashing For Staff & Hand Sanitizer For Patients

According to the CDC, proper hand hygiene is absolutely critical for preventing the spread of coronavirus. All of our staff members wash their hands between every single patient, and before and after putting on gloves. We follow all hand hygiene best practices to keep you safe.

In addition, we have hand sanitizer available for patients, and you are welcome to wash your hands with antibacterial soap in our bathroom before or after your appointment.

Enhanced Operatory Disinfection Protocols

We have always followed OSHA, CDC, and ADA requirements for disinfecting patient operatories, but we have gone a step further. We wipe down all surfaces within operatories between every single patient, using disinfecting wipes that are approved to kill all viruses including the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Proper Use Of PPE & Disposal Of Used Equipment

We are using PPE including masks, eye protection, face shields, gowns, and other equipment to keep our patients and our staff safe. All used disposable PPE will be left in the operatory to be disposed of properly. Reusable PPE will also be left in place until it can be sterilized in our autoclave. This minimizes the risk of spreading any harmful microorganisms between patients and operatories.

Frequent Cleaning Of Our Office & Common Areas

Our entire office is deep-cleaned once per day, and the waiting area and all common surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant wipes multiple times per day to ensure that we minimize the risk of patients spreading any infectious disease.
